Dry bedding isn’t a luxury – it’s your first line of defence

Calves live on their bedding, so if it’s holding moisture, ammonia or bad bugs, it directly affects their health and growth. Getting quality bedding in place and keeping it dry and treated from the start right through to rearing, is critical for good results.

EzyBed Dry

EazyBed Dry introduces a fresh solution designed to help farmers improve bedding hygiene, reduce disease pressure and improve calf performance while saving time and labour.

Cleaner, Drier Bedding – With Less Effort
EazyBed Dry uses a combination of beneficial bacteria and cellulolytic enzymes to drive positive fermentation within bedding material, slowing harmful bacteria and helping break down fibrous components. This results in bedding being up to 30% drier and reduces ammonia emissions by up to 50%, improving air quality for both calves and staff.

Better Calf Health and Reduced Disease Pressure
By establishing a base of beneficial bacteria on bedding surfaces and floors, EazyBed Dry helps suppress harmful microbes and slows the spread of contagious scours. This leads to healthier calves, more consistent growth and fewer treatments, saving farmers both time and money.

Ease of application
The product is safe to apply with calves in the pen and has no withholding period. Farmers simply apply 100g per calf during pre‑bedding, post‑bedding and then weekly for maintenance. Apply 24 hours AFTER application of any disinfectant.

Technology That Works With Bedding, Not Against It
Specifically selected beneficial bacteria, such as Bacillus velezensis and Pediococcus species from Lallemand Animal Nutrition form a positive biofilm on bedding surfaces, creating an unfavourable environment for bad bacteria. Specialised enzymes assist in breaking down bedding fibres, improving aeration and helping the bedding stay loose rather than crusting.

A Practical Innovation for Modern Kiwi Farms
Every season presents different challenges—wet weather, fluctuating temperatures and pressure on labour. EazyBed Dry gives farmers a practical tool to maintain bedding quality regardless of conditions. With longer‑lasting bedding, improved calf comfort, and reduced pathogen load, farmers can expect healthier calves and smoother rearing from day one.
