Nutritech are pleased to announce that our new South Island factory has been commissioned in Rolleston, Canterbury. Following
the Christchurch earthquake in 2009, the existing equipment in Christchurch city was relocated to a site in Rolleston as the old building was no longer fit for purpose. In the last 8 years there has been significant growth in our South Island business which has necessitated a move to larger premises with more pallet spaces for storage of raw materials and finished products. Nutritech has taken this opportunity to upgrade the equipment to the German Matcon mixing and pack-off system, the same system we have been running in our North Island factory for the last 6 years.
The Matcon system is well recognised in the food industry for accurate dispersion of macro and micro powder ingredients while at the same time minimising cross contamination of ingredients between batches, a constant risk with traditional fixed mixer production systems. The larger IBC’s means larger mixer volumes and the resultant efficiencies, providing economies of scale and a more streamlined production process. Nutritech CEO, Tony Manning, says “we are pleased to have completed our Rolleston factory on a greenfield site we purchased seven years ago for this purpose. This will give us greater capacity, flexibility and traceability to supply our customers with quality products into the future”.
