Nutritech expands its Support Team

A technical approach to supporting NZ farmers

Technical expertise, research and innovation have long been central to Nutritech’s product development and advisory services. From early work addressing mineral deficiencies through to the application of advanced nutrition software, Nutritech continues to invest in the tools, systems and people required to deliver practical advice that works on farm.

The recent expansion of the Support Team reflects a continued focus on infield capability across multiple animal species and forage systems. Tools such as Dietcheck® support accurate diet balancing, ensuring supplementary feeds and minerals complement the forage base and deliver optimal outcomes for both animals and farmers.

The Technical Team is led by Alun Faulkner (MSc Animal & Poultry Science, MDP), National Technical Manager. With more than 30 years’ experience in animal nutrition across South Africa and New Zealand, Alun provides technical leadership across the business while supporting feed mills and customers nationwide. A multispecies nutritionist, his background spans poultry, pigs and ruminants, underpinned by strong expertise in premix and feed manufacturing.

Nadine Olsen (BSc, MSc(Hons), BMS(Hons), AARNe) continues in her role as Ruminant and Forage Technical Services Manager, bringing over 15 years’ experience in the nutrition industry. Based in Manawatu and actively farming in the Ōpiki area, Nadine is passionate about lifting productivity across the milk, meat and wool sectors by translating technical science into practical, pasturefirst solutions on farm.

The South Island technical capability has been further strengthened with the appointment of Dr Marjan Sprock (DVM, PGDip AgrSc) as South Island Ruminant Technical Services Manager. With more than 25 years’ experience in veterinary practice and nutrition consulting, Marjan works closely with clients to improve animal health, reproduction and performance through sound nutritional strategies adapted to local systems.

In February 2026, Alyssa Mathis (BAnSc) joined the team as Upper North Island Technical Services Manager. Raised on a South Waikato dairy farm and previously a Nutritech Area Manager, Alyssa brings valuable onfarm insight alongside formal training in animal nutrition, supporting both ruminant and monogastric systems.

Nutritech has also strengthened its forage and business development capability. In June 2025, Catherine Sharpin moved into a Forage Business Development role covering the South Island, with wider responsibility across the West Coast, Tasman and Marlborough. With six years at Nutritech, Catherine has worked closely with contractors and farmers to build robust forage systems across Canterbury. She relishes the opportunity to combine her passion for agriculture with practical, onfarm solutions that lift forage quality, system efficiency and longterm outcomes, while continuing to build strong relationships across the sector.

Most recently, Hayden Kilpatrick (B.AgSci) has been appointed North Island Business Development Manager. Hayden brings more than six years’ experience as Area Manager in Taranaki, where he built strong, trusted relationships and delivered consistent results across animal nutrition and forage solutions. His deep understanding of farmer needs and practical systems positions him well to support Nutritech’s continued growth across the North Island.

Together, these appointments reinforce Nutritech’s commitment to delivering high quality technical expertise, trusted advice and practical solutions for New Zealand farmers.
